We now wax our East Lee and Garlic East Lee cheeses in Black and Yellow wax respectively. This not only improves the
appearance of the cheeses, it also extends the shelf life and promotes further maturing within the wax.
We had the pleasure of welcoming HRH, The Princess Royal to Pextenement Cheese Company this week. The visit lasted for two hours and consisted of a tour of the Cheese Making Premises, and part of the farm to see some of the animals. And the winner of the Yorkshire Life Magazine Food and Drink Awards "Best Local Producer" goes to Pextenement Cheese Company. Carl was presented with a plate and a rather large bottle of Champagne at a glittering ceremony in Harrogate. Tom Rennolds, a former MasterChef finalist is pictured presenting the award. Pexommier can now be bought online from this website. Press the 'Buy Now' button in the Pexommier section of the Cheese page to purchase a box containing 3 individual Pexommiers for a special price of £8.00 plus postage and packing. Each cheese is a minimum of 156g which normally retails at £8.40.
Pexommier has won a Silver Medal Award at the recent 2011 British Cheese Awards. The cheese was shortlisted for the awards ceremony, held in Cardiff, in the class 'New Soft White Cheese'. The Old Bore at Rishworth also won the 'Best Restaurant Cheese Board' award, which features Pextenement cheeses.
Come and see us at the "Made In Tod!" exhibition at Todmorden Town Hall on the 12th and 13th March 2011. We will have all our range of cheese on sale direct to the public, in addition to some one-off specials. Pextenement Cheese Company has won the inaugral Todmorden Business Association 'Totally Locally Hero' award - for the best Todmorden product or service of 2009 (in this case for the East Lee Soft Cheese launched in August 2009. More than 300 nominations were received by Todmorden Business Association. Carl attended the glittering awards ceremony and was presented with the award by Lynne Midwinter on behalf of the Business Association.
